Where Does Your Verdict and Settlement Information Come From?

The bulk of our verdict information comes from publications called "Jury Verdict Reporters." These are specialized publications which attempt to report most of the jury trials for a particular state, for example, "The Florida Jury Verdict Reporter," "The Ohio Jury Verdict Reporter," and "Jury Verdicts Weekly," (a California publication). We also monitor cases filed in federal courts and ask plaintiffs' attorneys to fill out a Verdict and Settlement Form found at this web site. (Click "Send Us Your Verdicts and Settlements" on the sidebar menu on our home page.) Third, we receive newspaper clippings and search the Internet for cases.

Of course, if any Wal-Mart lawyer wants to show off his lawyering skills by sending us a report of an important Wal-Mart win, we will gladly accept that too - but we don't think many Wal-Mart lawyers will send us reports, considering that the project is designed to assist plaintiffs' attorneys.
