Requests For Information!
The Wal-Mart Litigation Project is presently seeking information on the following topics, which will be used to assist attorneys involved in litigation against Wal-Mart.
Posted October 2000
* Crowd Control. Cases alleging improper crowd control preceding a sale (in terms of contributory negligence).
* Deceptive sales. In this case, Wal-Mart allegedly sold a diamond ring that turned out to be cubic zirconium.
* Discovery. Seeking a list or description of documents that Wal-Mart regularly attempts to withhold or conceal during the discovery process.
* Tortious interference. Cases in which contract brokers have been fired by their employers based on instructions received from Wal-Mart (e.g., “If you want to do business with Wal-Mart, fire Mr. X").
* Videos. Cases involving in-store surveillance video tapes vis-a-vis trip/slip/fall claims. Mainly seeking cases where Wal-Mart produced such videos to “expose” fradulent claims, and cases in which Wal-Mart claimed the accident site was not covered by video surveillance.
* Videos. Seeking a copy of the Wal-Mart safety training tape in which associates are warned that customers are often looking at the merchandise instead of concentrating where they are going. Primarily in regard to slip and fall cases.
